Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification provides commercial pool and spa facilities with the assurance that trained professionals are overseeing operations and swimmer safety. Our course covers essential topics including water chemistry, testing and treatment, filtration, maintenance, automatic feeding systems, and regulatory compliance. Participants complete an open-book exam, and certification remains valid for five years.

The Only CPO Course You Need

Our Wisconsin CPO (Certified Pool Operator) course provides comprehensive instruction for the safe and effective management of commercial swimming pools and spas. Training includes pool calculations, water chemistry, testing and analysis, filtration, circulation systems, maintenance procedures, and seasonal pool care. Students also learn about health codes, regulatory compliance, liability concerns, disease prevention, accident avoidance, and hazard communication practices essential to aquatic facility operations. Additional topics cover spa and hydrotherapy maintenance, energy conservation, renovation and modernization options, and administrative responsibilities such as bookkeeping, staff training, scheduling, and budget planning. The course emphasizes practical knowledge and industry standards needed to maintain safe, efficient, and properly functioning facilities. Participants who attend both days and achieve a score of 75 percent or higher on the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance examination earn Certified Pool/Spa Operator certification.
